Jordanian field hospital in Lebanon treated 1,200 patients so far

AMMAN — The Jordanian military field hospital in Beirut provided healthcare services to nearly 1,200 patients and casualties, all diagnosed for mild-to-moderate condition, the hospital director said on Sunday.

The hospital staff, which commenced their work on August 6, has provided all kinds of necessary medical services, to ease the suffering of the Lebanese people, after a massive explosion hit Beirut port some three weeks ago,  the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported the hospital director as saying.

The military field hospital was dispatched after His Majesty King Abdullah issued directives to the concerned authorities to support the Lebanese people.

The field hospital is fully equipped for conducting surgeries, including 48 beds, 10 ICU beds and two operating rooms. The Jordanian armed forces have sent field hospitals to more than 30 countries around the world and conducted various relief and humanitarian operations, Petra added.
