AMMAN — The Jordanian-Palestinian Agricultural Products Marketing Company (JPACO) board of directors on Saturday approved the 2024 marketing plan that targets over 30 international markets.

Agriculture Minister Khalid Hneifat said that the marketing plan serves the endeavours of both sides in order to expand the marketing of agricultural products and the resilience of Palestinian farmers on their lands. The plan also supports the Kingdom in avoiding market closures that includes 75 per cent of its borders, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Hneifat added that JPACO's role is to conduct surveys on air, marine and land routes to market agricultural produce, check on the needs of international markets, and sign agreements with global markets, positively reflecting on farmers through planting products needed for other markets.

The minister also referred to Jordan's position that rejects the heinous aggression on Palestinians, especially in Gaza.

Palestinian Agriculture Minister Riad Attari said that the company is keen on unifying efforts to support the resilience of the agricultural sectors in the two countries, commending the Kingdom's efforts to reach an end to the Israeli aggression on Gaza, Petra reported.

JPACO Director General Aladine Abulkhair referred to approving an agreement with the Jordan Exports to provide production, packing and classification lines with a value of JD400,000, which will contribute to meeting future demands of global markets that are expected to double next year.

Abulkhair said that the company's operations do not include exporting or importing from Jordan to Palestine or vice versa. However, the company exports Jordanian and Palestinian products to global markets according to pre-signed contracts.
