Justice minister receives German delegation

AMMAN — Minister of Justice Ahmad Ziadat on Tuesday welcomed a German delegation led by State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Justice Angelika Schlunck for a discussion on judicial cooperation.

During the meeting, Ziadat stressed the “strong relations” between the two countries' justice ministries, referring to a memorandum of understanding that was signed last year that provides for the exchange of expertise as well as legal and judicial cooperation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The German official added the MoU entails holding meetings and workshops, as well as exchanging visits. The two sides addressed cooperation within the framework of a project to increase the efficiency of criminal procedures in Jordan in line with the justice sector's 2022-2026 plan, currently being implemented. The project also stresses the importance of employing technology to develop the justice system.
