AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday sent cables to Egypt President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi and Tunisia President Moncef Marzouki, offering condolences over the death of soldiers in terrorist attacks that hit the two countries.

In the two cables, the Monarch expressed condemnation of such “cowardly” terrorist acts, voicing Jordan’s full support for Egypt and Tunisia in their efforts to eradicate terrorism.

On Saturday night, gunmen killed 21 Egyptian soldiers in an attack on a border checkpoint in Egypt’s western desert region.

On Friday, at least 14 Tunisian soldiers were reported killed in a militant attack.

Government Spokesperson Mohammad Momani on Sunday underlined Jordan’s rejection of all forms of violence, condemning the attacks.
