King congratulates Cyprus president-elect

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, in a phone call on Tuesday, congratulated Cypriot President-elect Nikos Christodoulides on winning the presidential elections.
In the phone call, King Abdullah stressed Jordan’s keenness to strengthen cooperation with Cyprus in various areas, in service of mutual interests, and with the aim of bolstering security and stability in the region and the world, according to a Royal Court statement.
His Majesty underscored the importance of expanding the trilateral cooperation between Jordan, Cyprus, and Greece, for the benefit of the three countries and the development of the region.
The King wished President-elect Christodoulides success, and the Cypriot people further progress and prosperity.

In an exclusive interview with The Jordan Times, President Christodoulides, who began his official duties on March 1 of this year, noted that one of his first meetings on his visit to Jordan was with His Majesty King Abdullah. “I consider this visit as very important because for us, Jordan is a country of priority,” he added.
