King urges public-private cooperation on vocational training

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday urged cooperation between the public and private sectors on vocational training, given its role in providing job opportunities and reducing unemployment.

During a meeting with figures from a number of governorates at Al Husseiniya Palace, attended by HRH Crown Prince Hussein, King Abdullah commended Jordanians’ potential across all sectors, according to a Royal Court statement.

Discussing the situation in the region, His Majesty reaffirmed that Jordan stands with the Palestinian people and continues to coordinate with various international stakeholders, reaffirming that the Palestinian cause and safeguarding Jerusalem remain a priority.

For their part, a number of the attendees highlighted the importance of establishing projects in the governorates to reduce unemployment, praising the King’s directives on the importance of giving attention to the agricultural sector and promoting national products, which have a positive impact on job creation and bolstering food security.

Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Bisher Al Khasawneh said the government is working on safeguarding public health and the economy at the same time, adding that the intention is to gradually and safely open up sectors in the upcoming period.
