AMMAN — The Council of Arab Environment Ministers on Wednesday approved a Jordanian proposal that urged Arab countries, international and regional organisations, and donor parties to provide assistance — to host countries of Syrian refugees — Jordan and Lebanon — to overcome the environmental impact of hosting large numbers of refugees.

Jordan presented the proposal during the council’s 26th session in Jeddah, according to Environment Minister Taher Shakhshir.
