Kingdom witnesses 'significant decline' in poisoning cases — SIGI

AMMAN — The number of poisoning cases in Jordan has witnessed a “significant decline” over the last five years, according to a Sisterhood Is Global Institute (SIGI) statement on Tuesday.
From 260 cases in 2014 and 180 in 2015, SIGI stated that the number of cases has continuously decreased to 107 in 2016.
According to the statement, medicines accounted for 40 per cent of these cases with females being the most affected at 64.4 per cent of the total number.
SIGI added that despite the decline, poisoning cases have been associated with suicide incidents which have increased in 2015.
