Land cultivation project benefitting 106 farmers concludes

AMMAN — The Zarqa Agriculture Directorate on Thursday finished a project aiming at rehabilitating farmers’ lands, reported the Jordan News Agency, Petra. Director of the Zarqa Agriculture Directorate Abdullah Shamayleh said that the project cost around JD100,000 and comprised of about 697 dunums and benefited 106 farmers.
The project’s activities included soil conservation, water harvesting and others, Shamayleh said, adding that it was intended to provide additional water resources and prevent soil erosion.
It also aimed to raise farmers’ standards of living and combat unemployment and poverty in rural areas.
