Lower House Palestine Committee, DPA, UNRWA officials discuss war on Gaza

AMMAN — The Lower House Palestine Committee on Tuesday held a meeting with Director General of the Jordanian Department of Palestinian Affairs Rafiq Kherfan and heads of camp services committees over the latest developments in the Israeli war against Gaza.
The meeting discussed the Kingdom's position, led by His Majesty King Abdullah, which calls for halting the aggression against the Palestinian people, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
MP Firas Ajarmeh, head of the committee, stressed Jordan's ongoing commitment in assisting UNRWA in to be able to deliver its educational and health services to Palestinian refugees.
Khirfan commended the role played by His Majesty, the government and the Lower House in “effectively” conveying the suffering of the Palestinians at regional and international gatherings.
He appreciated the decision made by the Lower House on Monday to examine agreements signed with Israel and pursue legal action against the occupation before the International Criminal Court.
Also on Tuesday, Khirfan met with the director of UNRWA operations in Jordan over a number of topics related to the work of the UN relief agency, according to Petra.
The meeting went over projects to improve living conditions of Palestinian refugees at UNRWA-administrated camps. Khirfan extended condolences for the loss of UNRWA personnel while on duty in Gaza, commending the UN agency's efforts in the war-torn strip.
