AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Abdulkarim Dughmi on Wednesday met with an Algerian delegation participating in the meetings of the Arab Parliament  currently being held in Amman.

Dughmi lauded the "deep-rooted" Jordanian-Algerian relations and the importance of strengthening ties at all levels. The speaker added that the Arab Parliament meetings constitute an opportunity to coordinate inter-Arab parliamentary efforts and stances towards Arab issues, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He also urged Arab parliamentarians to support and build on common Arab stances and reach unified positions against all schemes targeting the Arab and Islamic nations.

The members of the Algerian delegation commended His Majesty King Abdullah’s "consistent" positions in defending Arab causes, especially the Palestinian cause, and his support for efforts to promote a joint Arab action, and reach dialogue-based solutions for the region's crises.
