AMMAN — Yarmouk University President Zeidan Kafafi, the Director of the French Institute for the Near East (IFPO) in Jordan Falestin Naili and Sophia Schall of the Goethe-Institut Jordanien on Thursday discussed the mechanisms for implementing the “Oral History in Jordan during World War I” project, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During his meeting with Naili and Schall in his office on Thursday, Kafafi stressed the importance of the project, which aims to collect oral testimonies about World War I from people who heard stories about that period, pointing out that oral history has been marginalised for a long time and not enough studies have been conducted about it.
He stressed that the historian and researcher should be logical, rely on reliable sources of information and be unbiased. Naili pointed out that an executive plan will be prepared to ensure the continuity of the project for the coming years.
