Ministry of Culture announces caretaker committee, elections for JAA board

AMMAN – The Ministry of Culture announced on Monday the dissolution of the Jordan Artists Association (JAA) board and the formation of an interim administrative committee as a caretaker. Elections will also be held for JAA’s president and board members under the provisions of the law.
The ministry said in a press statement, carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra that the ministry decided to dissolve JAA’s board as of Monday, form an interim administrative committee as caretaker, and hold elections for the president and board members.
The decision was made due to the resignation of more than half of JAA’s board members, whose names are included in the letter of resignation, and based on the provisions of the JAA Law.
