AMMAN — The National Centre for Human Rights on Tuesday called for protecting and enhancing media freedom, a statement from the centre said. The protection should ensure a suitable media environment, the statement added.
Freedom of the media, as a basic human right, has a positive impact on political, social and economic reform, in addition to security and peace, according to the statement, which was released on the occasion of the World Press Freedom Day. The centre also called for the removal all legislations that hinder the work of journalists.
