AMMAN — A parliamentary delegation on Tuesday concluded an official visit to Cairo, during which the delegates held several meetings with Egyptian parliamentarians, journalists and tourism representatives.

The Palestinian cause and Jerusalem topped the discussions. The delegates highlighted the importance of implementing a pan-Arab media policy to protest the arbitrary Israeli procedures against Palestinians, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The delegation, headed by MP Omar Zyoud, head of the Lower House National Guidance, Media and Culture Committee, stressed the importance of the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

He praised His Majesty King Abdullah’s positions to defend the Palestinians’ rights.

The delegation also said that Arab media plays an important role in defending Arab causes, mainly the Palestinian cause.
