AMMAN — First Deputy Speaker of the Lower House Ahmed Khalaileh, in the presence of the King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) Director Mazen Tabbalat, attended the graduation ceremony of the Parliamentary Fellowship project’s third cohort on Monday .

During the ceremony, Khalaileh noted that the project participants were informed of parliamentary work at all stages with the goal of achieving His Majesty's vision to expand grassroot participation in decision-making, especially among women and youth.

Khalaileh expressed hope that next year’s parliamentary election would inspire capable young leaders to leave their footprint and impact on political processes. He stressed the need for political parties to be based on realistic programmes, motivating citizens to actively participate in the political modernisation process.

For his part, Tabbalat explained that the KAFD aims to stimulate inclusive development and support Jordanian youth in various fields. This Royal initiative was accomplished through the perennial partnership of KAFD and the House of Representatives.

The Parliamentary Fellowship Project, in partnership with the House of Representatives, promotes the reform process supported by His Majesty, in the light of the outcomes of the Royal commission on modernisation of the political system, resulting from the election and political party laws.
