AMMAN — Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh on Monday concluded his meetings with parliamentary blocs. The premier, during three separate meetings with two parliamentary blocs and 12 independent MPs, highlighted the Kingdom's financial and economic challenges.
The deficit is estimated at JD2.55 billion, he said, stressing that "the government will not borrow a penny to finance current spending, and if it is forced to do that, it will borrow to establish productive projects and investments that contribute to development and creating jobs”.
He also stressed the Kingdom's national constants related to the Palestinian cause, until fulfilling the aspirations of the Palestinian people to establish an independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the two-state solution.
