PM, FAO chief discuss coordination efforts

AMMAN — Deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah, Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Tuesday met with FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva and an accompanying delegation.
The premier praised the cooperation level between Jordan and the organisation, which dates back almost 35 years.
FAO has supported 38 projects in the Kingdom and is helping the government deal with the Syrian refugee crisis, Ensour said.
For his part, da Silva thanked the government for enhancing the organisation’s presence in the Kingdom, from where it can expand its operations in the region.
Also on Tuesday, Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh and Planning Minister Imad Fakhoury met with da Silva and stressed the importance of continuing coordination.
The FAO official praised Jordan’s measures to facilitate the agency’s work.
