AMMAN — Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Tuesday visited the Central Market for Fruits and Vegetables to check on the market’s readiness for Ramadan.
At a meeting with members of the market council — in the presence of ministers of agriculture, municipal affairs, and industry, trade and supply — Ensour said that measures taken by concerned parties have contributed to achieving the required balance in the market.
Market Director Abdul Majid Odwan said that the amounts of fruits and vegetables arriving in the market are more than enough, noting that the facility receives around half of the Kingdom’s production.
He said that the prices of main vegetables will decrease, due to the peak of their production season.
