AMMAN — HRH Prince Hassan, accompanied by TRH Princess Sarvath and Princess Sumaya, paid a visit to the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Budapest on Wednesday.

Prince Hassan and the academy president, Laszlo Lovasz, discussed common interests in science, development, ethics, intercultural dialogue and mutual exchange through knowledge, research and innovation, according to a statement from Prince Hassan’s office.

Prince Hassan also viewed the academy’s extensive collection of Arabic and Islamic manuscripts which have been collected, conserved and studied by Hungarian travellers and academics over the centuries, the statement said.

The connections between the Hungarian academy and Jordan, particularly through the Royal Scientific Society, are well established and culminated in Jordan’s hosting of the Word Science Forum in 2017 held under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah and attended by the president of Hungary.

This year’s World Science Forum will be hosted by the Academy in Budapest with the Royal Scientific Society as a partner organiser, according to the statement.
