DUBAI — HRH Princess Haya, wife of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid, vice president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, on Thursday called for efficient systems that ensure proper healthcare for the elderly in the Middle East.
Delivering the keynote speech at the Leaders in Healthcare Conference, Princess Haya, the chairwoman of Dubai Healthcare City Authority, said it is a collective responsibility of those living in the country to care for the elderly, both now and in the future.
“There is growing evidence that the current local system will be unsustainable if not changed over the next 20 years,” she noted at the conference, which this year focused on geriatric care in the Middle East.
