AMMAN — HRH Princess Rym Ali, the founder of the Jordan Media Institute (JMI), on Sunday called for enhancing an effective partnership between media and science, a necessity in a world of increasing challenges.

The princess, in a speech delivered on behalf of her by Najwa Khoury Boulus, during the opening session of the virtual Arab Forum for Science Media and Communication, highlighted the importance of disseminating science-related issues in a way that is accessible to a lay audience.

The speech also focused on the role of media in providing accurate and timely reports, highlighting its role in discussing the governments’ decisions in dealing with scientific data.

The four-day event, during its first version, discusses topics related to “capacity building and facing challenges”, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. About 400 participants are expected to attend the virtual forum, with the participation of more than 50 speakers in some 30 sessions.
