Project launched to partially fund civil society organisations

AMMAN — Hayat Centre and Rased (The Observer) on Thursday launched the project “Empowering Civil Society Organisations to Promote Community Cohesion” in the presence of the Social Development Ministry Secretary General Omar Hamzeh, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The project seeks to enhance civil society organisations’ potentials by providing partial funding operated by Hayat Centre to establish effective projects that help deal with challenges facing local community cohesion.
In a speech on behalf of the Social Development minister, Hamzeh said that civil society organisations play a core role in strengthening community cohesion.
For her part, Norwegian Ambassador to Jordan and Iraq Tone Allers said that achieving community cohesion by focusing on education and vocational training is “very important” to empower youth, create more job opportunities, and decrease rates of unemployment.
