AMMAN — Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi, head of the follow-up committee for the implementation of Royal initiatives, on Saturday inaugurated development projects in Mafraq, in implementation of His Majesty King Abdullah’s directives expressed in his meeting with governorate dignitaries.

Issawi inaugurated a youth club designated to meet the needs of youth in the region, in the presence of the Minister of Public Works and Housing Yahya Kisbi and the Minister of Youth Mohammed Nabulsi, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He also inaugurated a semi-Olympic swimming pool, as well as administrative offices and service buildings at Al al-Bayt University.

These initiatives, among others, were implemented with the Ministry of Planning, under the supervision of the Ministry of Youth, according to Petra.

The projects aim to promote youth sports in the governorate, and enable young people to play sports in a healthy environment that enhances their abilities and talents.

In the Jubaiha area in Amman, Issawi handed over the keys of a new house to a family, as part of Royal housing initiatives implemented in various parts of the Kingdom.

The Royal initiatives aim to bring about a “qualitative shift in targeted regions and communities and provide an incubating environment for talented young people”, he stressed.

All projects directed by His Majesty in Mafraq have been fully implemented through cooperation between the Department of Follow-up to the Implementation of Royal Initiatives in the Royal Hashemite Court, government institutions and concerned civil organisations.

Meanwhile, Al al-Bayt University students expressed their thanks towards the implementation of these Royal projects, which reflect His Majesty’s keenness to provide a decent life for citizens, especially young people, voicing their appreciation for continuing to implement the initiatives despite exceptional coronavirus conditions.

The opening ceremony witnessed adherence to public safety regulations imposed during the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
