AMMAN — Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi on Tuesday inaugurated a kidney dialysis unit at the Madaba Military Medical Centre, after His Majesty King Abdullah issued directives for its establishment during a previous meeting with the governorate's dignitaries.

Issawi, who is also head of the follow-up committee for the implementation of Royal initiatives, toured the centre. The centre has 13 dialysis machines that will serve 60 patients per month, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The 500 square-metre unit, established under a Royal initiative, includes a water treatment room, a comprehensive clinic and a cardiac recovery room, as well as several other facilities.

Issawi said that the establishment of the dialysis unit reflects His Majesty's directives to meet the needs of local communities and provide the best health and medical services to citizens, as part of a holistic vision to improve conditions in a variety of sectors.

In a bid to achieve the Royal vision of providing the best means of healthcare and treatment to citizens, he added that hospitals in various regions of the Kingdom have been maintained, expanded and rehabilitated and provided with the necessary medical equipment.

For his part, Director of the Royal Medical Services Brig. Gen. Yousef Zreiqat said that the RMS is going on with implementing Royal directives to develop healthcare services provided to citizens.

Patients receiving treatment at the centre praised the Royal initiative, which eased the struggle of travelling to remote hospitals, saving time and effort. The patients expressed their gratitude to King Abdullah for the initiative, and other initiatives that help citizens at the economic, healthcare and development fronts.
