Safadi meets with EU ambassadors

FM reviews Kingdom’s efforts towards political, economic reforms

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Tuesday met with EU ambassadors to Jordan, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

Safadi, during the meeting, stressed the importance of Jordanian-European partnership, highlighting the cooperation shown in various fields, as well as the consultation and coordination over regional challenges.

The top diplomat acquainted the ambassadors with the Kingdom’s efforts towards political and economic reforms, a national necessity of high priority for His Majesty King Abdullah, who has stressed its centrality in the Kingdom’s efforts against the challenges and to create opportunities to serve Jordan and its people.

Talks also went over the government’s current programmes and progress on programmes to ensure the momentum of economic reform. 

Discussions stressed the importance of maintaining the achieved positive results in this arena.

Safadi also reviewed the Kingdom’s efforts, in coordination with Arab states, to develop “effective action” to resolve regional crises, the foremost of which is the Palestinian cause.

He also voiced keenness to continue coordination and consultation with European partners over efforts to find “real prospects” to overcome regional challenges and achieve security and stability. The minister also said that Jordan looks forward to working with the new US administration towards achieving progress in this arena.
