Safadi, UfM officials meet ahead of 7th regional forum

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Thursday met with senior officials of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), and discussed regional issues and common challenges, as well as ways to advance Euro-Mediterranean cooperation.
The Jordan-hosted meeting came ahead of the 7th Regional UfM Forum, which is set to take place this November in Barcelona, Spain.
The forum will be co-chaired by Safadi and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Josep Borrell, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. Jordan and the EU have co-presided over the UfM since 2012, Petra added.
