Senate president urges support for fallen officers’ fund

AMMAN — Senate President Faisal Fayez on Monday called for supporting Royal initiatives, the latest of which is establishing a fund to support the families of army and security officers who died in the line of duty.

His Majesty King Abdullah has directed the Royal Court to allocate JD5 million from its budget to the fund, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. During a meeting attended by senators and businesspeople, Fayez called on the private sector to provide institutionalised and sustainable support for the fund.
