Sharifa Nisreen Bint Zeid opens event honouring women's achievements

AMMAN — Sharifa Nisreen Bint Zeid Bin Shaker on Wednesday attended a ceremony organised by the Family and Childhood Protection Society at the Northern Region Officers Club on the occasion of the International Women's Day. 

Kathem Kfeiri, head of the society, stressed women’s role in several achievements made in various fields, noting that the ceremony is intended to celebrate women's achievements and their ability to realise positive change in society, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Toni Abu Akleh, brother of late journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, said that Arab women still face several hardships in terms of education and work opportunities, and yet have managed to excel in education, healthcare and labour.
