AMMAN — An electric short-circuit in a power generator at the Greek Catholic Hospital in Irbid on Saturday resulted in intense smoke emissions that required evacuating patients, according to Irbid Governor Radwan Otoum.
He said that precautionary evacuation was implemented and patients were transferred to Princess Basma Hospital and other private hospitals, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, quoted him as saying.
Two patients suffered mild smoke inhalation and they were in stable condition, he added. Later in the day, Health Minister Saad Jaber directed the concerned authorities to transfer kidney dialysis patients from the hospital to Princess Basma Hospital, according to Petra.
