Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference SOFEX 2022 concludes

AMMAN — The four-day Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference SOFEX 2022 concluded in Aqaba on Thursday amid a "vast" local, regional and international participation. 

During the closing ceremony, SOFEX Jordan General Manager Brig. Gen. Ayman Batran said that the event, inaugurated by His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), has attracted more than 300 displaying companies from 38 countries, 75 delegations and 300 global figures from senior security leaders and experts.

Batran said that the exhibition, which was suspended for four years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, returned to deliver its message of realising security and safety in the world through utilising defence technologies, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

He added that the exhibition is dedicated to special operations and national security, where its showcased items change constantly depending on new innovations and challenges facing the world that are imposed by future threats.

The manager added that this edition is characterised by simulating regional conditions and having a global programme, noting that several agreements were signed during the exhibition with JAF, Jordan Design and Development Bureau (JODDB), and local and international companies.

The exhibition, which is organised biennially, is a hub for dialogue among decision makers and stakeholders of defence industries through ministers of defence, chiefs of staff, senior army officers of special operations.
