State sponsored maternity insurance reaches 3,017 mothers-to-be

AMMAN — The number of women subscribed to the maternity insurance offered by the Social Security Corporation (SSC) has reached 3,017 in the first six months of 2014, bringing the total number of policyholders to 9,456 since the programme’s inception in September 2011.

In a statement sent to The Jordan Times on Tuesday, the SSC said it launched several awareness campaigns over the past two years to educate the public about the programme’s benefits and requirements.
