AMMAN — King Abdullah I Hospital Director General Ismail Matalqah on Sunday honoured medical student Abdulwahab Ishawi for donating more than 30 blood platelets over the last two years. Ishawi was recognised for his contribution in saving blood cancer patients who need these rare platelets, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Donating platelets is a healthy and safe procedure for donors, as they can be regenerated within three days after donating. They are known for their role in stimulating and boosting bone marrow, according to Petra.
