AMMAN — A woman and a man died, while six people were injured in a two-vehicle collision late Thursday near Samad’s intersection on the Irbid-Ajloun highway, according to Irbid Civil Defence Department (CDD) Director Brig. Gen. Munib Awawdeh.

Northern Mazar CDD personnel took the injured to Prince Rashid Military Hospital, where that one of them was reported to be in critical condition, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

An initial investigation showed that the accident was the result of both vehicles’ speeding, where one made a wrongful overtaking in a dangerous zone, according to Petra. Area residents have previously organised protests to call for implementing maintenance work on the road where the accident took place.
