AMMAN — Minister of Water and Irrigation Raed Abul Saud and Regional Director of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) Elisabeth Girrbach on Tuesday laid the foundation for the renovation of the ministry's training centre.
Abul Saud said that the centre is expected to provide local and regional water authorities with the latest scientific know-how and expertise according to best global practices, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The centre, he added, would help in the formulation of strategic water plans for stakeholders, including companies owned by the water ministry.
The minister expressed gratitude to the German government for supporting the project, adding the Jordanian-German cooperation is “a model water partnership”.
Girrbach pledged that the German agency will continue its support to Jordan's water sector to enable it to address challenges and upgrade its capacity, Petra said.
