Winners of Koran memorisation competition honoured

AMMAN — Deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah, Awqaf Minister Wael Arabiyat on Friday attended the awards ceremony of the 24th International Hashemite Koran Memorisation Contest, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The minister presented awards to 35 winners. A total of 220 contestants from 28 countries participated in the competition. Chief Islamic Justice Ahmad Hilayel, Grand Mufti Abdul Karim Khasawneh and Royal Court Secretary General Yousef Issawi attended the ceremony.
