Workshop on countering terrorism launched

AMMAN — The Public Security Directorate in cooperation with the Police Federation of Australia (PFA) on Saturday launched the second training workshop of the national community peace team project.
Youth Minister Fares Braizat, during the opening ceremony at Al Hussein Youth City, highlighted the importance of the role of youth in rejecting extremism and spreading a culture of tolerance through raising young people's awareness to “thwart misleading ideas”, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The four-day workshop included three sessions, the first related to extremist groups’ utilisation of social media platforms for promotion and recruitment activities, the second on online recruitment activities in Jordan and the third on recruitment stages and measures to prevent recruitment.
