15 Palestinians arrested as Israeli aggressions against Al Aqsa continue

RAMALLAH — Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday arrested at least 15 Palestinians from several neighbourhoods in Jerusalem, the Palestinian Society Prisoners Club said.

The club stated that the Israeli occupation forces raided the towns of Hazma, Abu Dees, Issawiyeh and Silwan amidst heavy firing.

The occupation forces carry out daily campaigns of raids and arrests targeting Palestinians in different cities and towns in the West Bank, added the society.

Also on Wednesday, Al Aqsa Foundation for Waqf and Heritage said extremist Jewish settlers stormed Al Aqsa Mosque anew from the Bab Al Magharbeh side, while an Israeli military blockade was erected near the mosque banning Palestinians younger than 50 years old from entry.

The foundation said that settlers broke into the mosque wearing Talmudic clothes to celebrate Sukkot (the Feast of Tabernacles), while members of extremist organisations called on their supporters to take part in storming Al Aqsa to perform prayers.

Occupation forces also tried to evacuate the mosque of young worshippers, prompting dozens of Jerusalemites to perform Isha and Fajr prayers on the streets adjacent to the mosque.

Wednesday marked the third day of Sukkot, and large numbers of settlers were seen, along with leading rabbis and the Israeli president, Reuven Rivlin, at the Buraq Wall in Al Haram Al Sharif.

Some social media outlets published leaks from the Israel Security Agency (Shabak) revealing the agency's intention to apply administrative detention against Palestinians defending Al Aqsa, instead of the expulsion policy it currently adopts, the foundation added.
