King, in phone call with President Abbas, reaffirms Jordan’s firm position on Palestinian cause

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, in a phone call on Friday with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, stressed Jordan’s steadfast position on the Palestinian cause and its support for the Palestinian people in gaining their just and legitimate rights, and establishing their independent state on the June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital, living in peace with all countries in the region, based on the two state solution.
King Abdullah underscored that Jordan will continue to work towards the just and comprehensive peace that the people of the region seek, in line with international law and relevant UN resolutions, and that the Kingdom will proceed, in close coordination with its Palestinian and Arab brothers and in cooperation with the international community, to deal with the coming phase, according to a Royal Court statement.
President Abbas expressed appreciation for Jordan’s steadfast position, led by His Majesty, in supporting the Palestinian cause and defending the rights of the Palestinian people.
