AMMAN — Officials have confiscated 70 tonnes of chicken which are not fit for human consumption from a trader in Maan, an official from Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) said on Wednesday. The confiscated chickens do not belong to a company or slaughterhouse, the official said.
The trader bought the chicken in January to be sold during the fasting month of Ramadan in a bid to gain more profit, but the shipment turned unfit for human consumption due to improper storage conditions, added the official, as quoted by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
