AMMAN — Starting on Friday, the Ajloun Cable Car will be available to visitors from 11am to 6:30pm,  Chairman of the Jordan Free and Development Zones Group (JFDZG) Khalaf Hmeisat announced on Thursday.

Ticket prices have been set at an affordable rate of JD4 for Jordanian citizens and JD8 for non-Jordanians, while children under the age of three will enjoy free admission, Hmeisat said, according to a JFDZG statement.

He reassured the public that safety, control, calibration and operational inspections have been conducted for the cable car system and its cabins through virtual simulations entailing diverse weather conditions and varying operational loads. This guarantees not only general safety, but also sustainability of operations, ensuring a secure and enjoyable experience for all visitors.

The Ajloun Cable Car is a pioneering tourism and investment project in the region, to showcase the historical, archaeological, religious, environmental and forest treasures of Ajloun Governorate.

With its inauguration, the cable would inspire private sector investors to explore opportunities in the tourism industry, capitalising on the northern governorate’s rich assets and potential for success, the statement read.
