AMMAN — The Arab pharmaceutical industries forum and the exhibition of Indian and Chinese companies for medicinal equipment kicked off on Tuesday.

President of the Arab Union of the Manufacturers of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Appliances Adnan Badwan said that the event should positively reflect on medicine production in terms of quality, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Also speaking at the two-day event, Jordanian Pharmacists Association President Zeid Kilani said that the international consumption of medicine worldwide exceeds $1 trillion, with the share of US, European and Japanese companies standing at 85 per cent, which means that Arab companies have a wide opportunity to increase their shares.
