Army chief, counter-terrorism coalition chief discuss cooperation

AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat, and Commander in Chief of the Islamic Military Counter-terrorism Coalition Raheel Sharif on Thursday discussed means to enhance joint action in the war against terrorism.
Talks highlighted the importance of combating terrorism through cooperation and fighting the phenomenon on all fronts, as well as addressing its security, cultural and ideological threats, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Saudi Arabia announced the formation of the Islamic Military Counter-terrorism Coalition in December 2015, to act as a unified pan-Islamic front against terrorism, according to the coalition’s website.
