Army destroys truck during infiltration attempt

AMMAN — The army on Saturday destroyed a truck trying to illegally enter the Kingdom from war-torn Syria.

According to a Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army statement, military units deployed on the border responded to the situation in line with the rules of engagement and destroyed the truck on the other side of the border.

Last week, Border Guards killed two men who attempted to illegally cross into the Kingdom from Syria.

On June 1, Border Guards also destroyed two vehicles trying to cross into the Kingdom from the northern neighbour.

The army has repeatedly stated that it would not tolerate any attempt to jeopardise the security of the country and the people, and will not hesitate to use proportionate force in dealing with any border infiltration attempts.
