Army foils large smuggling attempt on eastern border

AMMAN — Border Guard units with the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF)’s Eastern Military Zone, in cooperation with military security personnel and the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND), on Thursday foiled an attempt to smuggle large quantities of narcotics, according to the JAF’s website: www.jaf.mil.jo.

The statement on the website said the joint force seized 526 palm-sized sheets of hashish, 440,000 Captagon pills, 7,000 Tramadol pills, a Kalashnikov rifle and 495 bullets that were all referred to relevant institutions.
