AMMAN — The Department of Antiquities and the Council for British Research in the Levant (CBRL) on Sunday signed a memorandum of understanding to institutionalise their partnership, develop archaeological research in Jordan, and preserve Jordan’s cultural heritage.

According to the memorandum, both parties will be exchanging information and documents, implementing projects, activities, and programmes, and providing technical assistance for employees through training.

The department expressed keenness to collaborate with local and global institutions to safeguard cultural heritage, including CBRL, which was established in the 1970s to facilitate the work of students and researchers and conduct projects in archaeology, sociology and anthropology.
