AMMAN — The European Union-funded Innovation for Enterprise Growth and Jobs Programme, “Innovate Jordan”, in partnership with Orange Jordan, SAM Engineering, and Endeavour Jordan announced the teams selected for the Design Thinking Challenge launched recently.

A total of 190 beneficiaries were selected to participate in the challenge’s different categories, according to a statement from Orange Jordan.

The Design Thinking Challenge aims to encourage youth and equip them with designing thinking skills in three key fields: Growth, digitisation and the 4th Industrial Revolution, and programming or tech-based skills to enable them to deal with change management, problem-solving, strategic planning and development.

The Design Thinking Challenge will be held over the course of five weeks to train the participants and prepare them to work on solutions for the challenges in five modules that include: Empathy, defining, ideation, prototyping and testing.

The qualified teams will compete to have one winner from each of the three fields for the first year to win JD7,500 in grants offered from Orange Jordan and the EU, according to the statement.

The EU, in partnership with Orange Jordan, SAM Engineering, and Endeavour Jordan, aims to train 1,000 participants in design thinking theories and practical application during the project’s implementation.
