AMMAN — The Ministry of Environment and the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) on Thursday signed a cooperation agreement to exchange information, documents, data and services regarding professional licenses via direct electronic linking.
Amman Mayor Yousef Shawarbeh said that the municipality has completed 82 per cent of its digitalisation project, which “cannot be completed without direct linkage with various ministries, institutions and partners”, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The agreement came in implementation of the Royal directives, which were reflected in the decisions of the Cabinet to launch the e-government portal in 2020 aimed at saving service recipients’ time and effort and encouraging investments while keeping pace with technological developments in the public sector, he added.
The two sides agreed to cooperate in regards to procedures for licensing professions, including automating services related to issuance, renewal, changing profession, transferring ownership and moving sites, among others, Petra added.
