AMMAN — Senate President Faisal Fayez on Tuesday participated in the World Government Summit 2022, which kicked off in Dubai earlier in the day under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

More than 30 international organisations and political, economic and cultural figures from various countries are taking part in the two-day summit, which features key sessions and panel discussions, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The summit will deal with topics focusing on policies that enforce progress and government development, as well as designing the future of healthcare systems and working towards the acceleration of global economic recovery.

Furthermore, the summit will focus on encouraging advanced technologies and the future of educational systems and work life.

In press remarks, Fayez stressed that the summit, which is held amid the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic, seeks to establish a global model of cooperation between governments and states, enhance international dialogue on key trends in the post-pandemic world, and coordinate efforts to boost joint government action.

The Senate president said that the summit also seeks to find solutions to future challenges through forming effective partnerships and exchanging expertise, knowledge and success stories for a better future for humanity.

The world today faces “numerous and enormous political, economic and social challenges in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic and political conflicts that led to an increase in the number of refugees, poverty and unemployment”, he said.

As a result, the world needs joint cooperation “more than ever” to overcome and find solutions to these challenges, Fayez stressed.

The Senate president also visited the Jordanian pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai and expressed appreciation for the staff for their efforts in highlighting Jordan's civilisation, traditions, tourist attractions and achievements in various fields.
