AMMAN — Senate President Faisal Fayez on Thursday met with Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, in the presence of a number of senators, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the meeting, Fayez stated that the Kingdom is dealing with the various issues diplomatically from the standpoint of Jordan's national interest under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah.
He emphasised the firm Jordanian position on the Palestinian issue, which is based on the two-state solution with the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the pre-1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
For his part, Safadi informed the senators of diplomatic efforts to support the Palestinians and their right to freedom, and to establish their own independent state.
Safadi also outlined efforts to find a solution to the Syrian crisis that is acceptable to the Syrian people, upholds their solidarity and allows them to return to their country.
